| OJC Nursing Dept. is recipient of grant from The Colorado Trust
Otero Junior College has recently been named one of 22 grantees of The Colorado Trusts Health Professions Initiative. The grant has awarded the OJC Nursing Department $311,000.00, over a three-year period, to be used to fund the second level of the colleges newly created part-time nursing program. The Colorado Trusts Health Professions Initiative is a three-year, $9.4 million effort that hopes to expand existing programs and develop new programs to increase education, training, and advancement opportunities for health professions, especially for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds and in rural areas of the state. Over the next three years, OJC will use The Colorado Trust grant to increase the annual number of registered nurse (RN) graduates by providing a non-traditional part-time schedule that utilizes evening and weekends for classroom and clinical experience for students who are working or cannot attend a traditional weekday format.
Joe Penny played icky dentist
It was about a woman who got pregnant and her husband suspected that she was cheating on him because he had had a vasectomy. She tried to make him understand that she wasn't cheating on him. She went to her calendar and remembered that she had been put to sleep at a dental visit. She had people investigate the matter, and it was found that the dentist was raping patients while they were asleep. Title and availability, please? .

Sizing Europe has the look of a champion
There were four previous Grade One winners in yesterday's field, including Hardy Eustace, the champion at Cheltenham in 2004 and 2005, and Al Eile, last season's Aintree Hurdle winner. Sizing Europe, though, simply galloped away from them after the second-last hurdle under a hand ride by Andrew McNamara. He then hurtled across the final flight and kept up his easy, unextended gallop to the line to beat Hardy Eustace eight lengths. This was Sizing Europe's first outing since the Greatwood Hurdle over the Champion course and distance at Cheltenham in November, when he beat Osana, who has since blossomed into a championship contender himself, by four lengths in receipt of 6lb. That performance alone was enough to make him a 9-1 chance for the Champion, and he was the new favourite before McNamara had pulled him up.
Provincial board sets date for 15 Church Street appeal
The Ontario Municipal Board has set aside three days next month to hear an appeal for a proposed dental office at 15 Church Street, Ancaster. The applicant, Dr. John Smillie, has launched an appeal arising from Hamilton city council's "refusal or neglect" to enact a proposed amendment to the Ancaster Official plan to redesignate land at 15 Church St. from residential to commercial. Dr. Smillie plans to relocate his existing Wilson Sreet practice to the renovated site on Church Street to permit expansion and improved handicap access. Several neighbouring residents opposed the plan at public meetings held last year. John Ariens, senior planner for Planning and Engineering Initiatives Ltd. will represent Dr. Smillie. Hearings are open to the public.
Costa Rica Trek To Aid Recovery
A 250-mile trek across Central America will help signal the recovery of a former triathlete after a near-fatal accident more than 10 years ago. Rob Hughes, 32, from Merlins Bridge, Pembrokeshire, suffered extensive injuries in a bicycle accident in 1997. In March he plans to hike, cycle, raft and kayak across Costa Rica in a week. After 10 years of recovery from acute migraines, amnesia, dental and lower back pain he is training hard for his latest challenge. "I'm really looking forward to it and will put everything into it," he said. He has been following a training program which has been developed by the Prince's Trust charity. "It consists of off-road mountain biking, running and cross-training in the gym, and it's been quite effective," Mr Hughes added.
The Worst Market Crisis in 60 Years
In order to prevent recession and eliminate credit bust period, the Fed and government have intervened repeatedly both monetarily and fiscally whenever financial market is in trouble. They have flooded the market with easy credit by providing large liquidity and lowering short term interest rate. As a result, they have prolonged the bull market and credit boom period as long as they can to keep people happy. This is similar to "treating a drunk by giving him another drink", as well said by a investment advisor. Whether people will have to pay for this kind of temporary shock therapies by suffering deeper pain in a very long bear market with dead credit, has been beyond Fed's consideration. Good job, Greenspan. Poor Bernanke, as people say, timing is everything. This is also the main reason behind the deregulation of financial institutions during last 20 years, since Fed needs Wall St to fully corroborate, utilize and leverage all the easy credits they provide.
